Description
Switchgrass is a clump-forming grass that is great for soil stabilization and preventing erosion. it's a perennial low maintenance grass that tolerates low to high moisture. This grass stays in seed from mid-summer to mid-winter, making it a great food source for birds in the winter. They have entier, linear, simple, alternately arranged leaves with parallel venation. It can grow up to 10 feet tall but usually stays shorter.

Switchgrass prefers well drained soils of finer texture like sand, but can tolerate heavy soils with low drainage as well. it can have full or part sun exposure. This grass is also tolerant to deer and other grazers.
