Description

The Strawberry Leaf Raspberry is a short, deciduous shrub species that can grow up to 0.5 m. This plant may also be known by the common names: Five Leaved Bramble or Creeping Raspberry. The leaves are alternately arranged, compound, have three or five leaflets, which are 1-3 cm long, oval shaped, and have irregularly course toothed margins. The flowers are white, have five petals, appear on long erect stems, and bloom in late summer. These flowers produce bright red, shiny, globe shaped berries, which are edible to humans. Unlike other Raspberry species, this plant has no thorns on the stem. The fruit and flowers of Strawberry Leaf Raspberry are beneficial to many wildlife species, like birds, as well as pollinator species, like bees and butterflies.
