Description
Marram Grass or American Beachgrass is a perennial warm-season grass that grows up to 0.9m tall. The upper part of the leaves are deeply furrowed with a smooth underside. The plant's inflorescence is a spike-like panicle that can reach 10 inches (25 cm) long; The spikelet is single-flowered, awnless. They're extensive underground rhizome systems can spread up to 20ft wide and 6ft deep, making them great dune stabilizers.
Planting conditions
Marram Grass prefers well-drained soil with full sun exposure. It's tolerate to drought, salt, high winds and does well in poor soils such as sand.
