Description
Common Water Plantain is a perennial emergent-aquatic plant that grows up to 1 m tall. The basal leaves are oval to ovate and have a thick texture. The flowers appear on a large whorled panicle with many branches. Individual flowers are small, have white petals, with a small yellow spot at the base of each petal.
Planting conditions
Common Water Plantain grows in shallow water or wet, humus type soil. Common water plantain requires full or part sun conditions. It can be found growing naturally in bogs, swamps, and shallow water along shorelines and ponds.
