Description

Canadian Honewort is a wildflower species that can grow up to 1 m in height. The leaves are compound with three leaflets, are medium to dark green coloured, have doubly serrated margins, have pointed tips, and are larger near the base of the stem. The flowers are tiny, white coloured, have five petals and stamens, appear in irregular umbel clusters of 3-8, and bloom between June and July. The flowers are beneficial to pollinator species, like bees and butterflies.

Planting conditions

Canadian Honewort grows best in normal to moist conditions with shade or partial sun exposure. It prefers well-drained, nutrient rich loam or humus soil types. It is tolerant of shade. This wildflower can be naturally found in moist forests, forest edges, along shaded streams, and in shaded yards.
